BEHN – Bag-Filling Technology for the Modern Foodstuffs Industry

BEHN is the Haver Group trade name for equipment designed to meet the requirements of the modern food industry, according to the worldwide standard GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Well known in Europe under the name of Behn  + Bates, it develops and manufactures valve and open mouth bag-filling machines.

The bag-filling solutions offered by Behn for filling valve bags are as different and diversified as the materials proper to be filled in, and vary from simple manually operated semiautomatic standard machines to high-efficiency complex and fully automated equipment capable of producing 100 to

2,200 bags/h, with weights varying from 2.5 to 2,000 Kg, with the product being weighted while the bags are filled in or pre-weighted.

In addition to the entire range of equipment provided under the Haver trade name, such as auger bag-filling machine, gravity bag-filling machine, pneumatic or turbine bag-filling machines, these last two models may be found in the stationary and rotary versions, and with regard to bag applicators Behn also offers Big Bag filling stations.

Some of the mostly used BEHN equipment are the following: Top Line, Integral Single and Auger bag-filling machines.

Top Line

Fully automatic system for the placement of course or fine granulated products with proper fluidity into plain bags or side seam open mouth bags, under cleaning and consistency conditions.

Single Auger

For flaky or granulated products, such as food additives.
To ensure that the product is properly fed, there is a simultaneously-operated actuator located above the dosing thread developed specifically for the material.

Integral

The Plug’n Pack concept combines the application, filling, and sealing technology into one single compact unit.

The Integral fills up valve bags with capacity of more than 10 liters

Some advantages of this system:

Compact unit, little space required;
Ready to be assembled, including the control system, providing a reduced commissioning term;
Dustproof fairing, with wide maintenance ports;
Low noise level operation;
Simple operation and maintenance;
Anti-static polycarbonate windows for visually inspecting the bag-filling process;
Mobile equipment concept (optional);
High operation reliability level;
Available with 1 and 2 nozzles, or also with expansible design.
